EciAdsl on Archlinux 0.8 - pacman closes connection

Postby ErMoviola » Fri May 18, 2007 10:21

Hi all,

I'm using ArchLinux 0.8 and I've installed the eciadsl driver 0.11 from source (patched to be used with 2.6.20 kernel).
If I try to coonect using eciadsl-start it goes fine, I get connected and I can ping any site or ip address. But if try to use pacman -Sy or wget the modem gets disconnected and powers off and after a while it powers on again, without reconnecting.

Anyone knows what could it be?

Thanks

You should try other synch .bin files. Depending on .bin file, connection may be more stable.

I've been using other distros before (Suse, *ubuntu) and the synch .bin file was always the same. Does it change depending on which distro I use? :-/

Anyway, I'll try.

Hard to answer to this question, we still don't know anything about synch protocol :(
So I can't say why a .bin will be better than another, and sometimes you have to change .bin for unknown reasons....
