Installation/usage of EciAdsl driver under Linux

Hamlet HDSL8K2

Postby alexo » Wed Jan 07, 2009 22:23

Hello guys,

I own a Hamlet HDSL8K2 usb ADSL modem.

After successfully installing EciAdsl drivers for my Ubuntu 8.10 distro and probing my modem I get the Vid1, Pid1, Vid2, Pid2 values.
Checking for these values on the supported modem list I get a perfect matching with the two following models:

Conitech Kinowa
D-Link DSL200 generation III

.bin file GS7470 synch20

The modem successfully get synched but the message I get immediatly after the connection attempt is:

modem hangup

what should I do tho avoid that?

Tank you in advance

After many attempts, I finally got it working.

What I did was to modify
/etc/eciadsl/eciadsl.conf file as follow:

Code: Select all
VID1=0915
PID1=8104
VID2=0915
PID2=8104
MODE=VCM_RFC2364
VCI=35
VPI=8
FIRMWARE=/etc/eciadsl/firmware00.bin
SYNCH=/etc/eciadsl/gs7470_synch20.bin
PPPD_USER=your_username_goes_here
PPPD_PASSWD=
USE_DHCP=yes
USE_STATICIP=no
STATICIP=
GATEWAY=
MODEM=D-Link DSL200 generation III
MODEM_CHIPSET=GS7470
SYNCH_ALTIFACE=0
PPPOECI_ALTIFACE=0
PROVIDER=IT..Infostrada
DNS1=193.70.192.25
DNS2=193.70.152.25

Thank you to the Eciadsl developers for their work.
